Do the above for at least 2 months then continue on that schedule until you have stopped your acid reducing medicine.  Then continue for one additional month.  At that point, gradually decrease your dosage until either off or at a comfortable maintenance dose, if that is needed.

If you are currently on an acid reducing medicine, talk to your Doctor about how to slowly back out of the medication.

Caffeine, nicotine and alcohol all increase symptoms in acid reflux because they weaken the sphincter muscle, which separates the esophagus and stomach thus allowing acid to infiltrate unprotected tissue in the esophagus.

Adrenal Support Protocol

The adrenal gland is a gland that I call the “hub of the wheel”.  It has spokes going out to just about every process in the body including but not limited to our stress response, immune system, sleep hormones, sex hormones, sugar metabolism, digestive health, and blood pressure regulation.

Put it this way, our adrenal glands were meant to help us from running from one Saber tooth tiger a week and for chasing a rabbit or some other prey maybe 30 minutes a day.

Today, this is not how we use this gland. To be frank, the  “ conveniences” of modern day living has trashed our adrenal gland. We now overstimulate the gland all throughout the day by stressing about work and other modern day problems, exhausting it.

I see this as a key organ because when it is supported nutritionally and through other daily hygiene habits it can rejuvenate and many symptoms of modern life can improve.

Healthy Habit Support

  1. Decrease sugar / and refined wheat
  2. Diet in
  3. Sleep hygiene- 7-8 hours per night

Natural Anti-inflammatory Options

Natural anti-inflammatory options are excellent ways of dealing with inflammation from a variety of sources.

They can offer substantial relief with no side effects as long as you are not allergic to that particular food.

Supplemental Support

  1. Fish oil  / Omega Three Fatty Acids are the best overall anti-inflammatory.  Work on the same enzyme path as OTC NSAIDS.  Great overall AI with multiple other health benefits that make fish oil the first and most efficient food source supplement to choose.  This is essential because our body needs this nutrient for multiple functions and can not make it on its own.  Natural food sources are cold water fish, flax seed and flax seed oil and grass fed animals. Dosage 1000-3000 mg / day _____X_____ Daily for________
  2. Boswellia Complex   also known as frankincense, boswellia is a wonderful replacement for aspirin and nsaids.  This herb down regulates inflammation and has joint building characteristics.  It is excellent when taken with synergists like turmeric and ginger.  Eat with fat for better absorption. _____X_____ Daily for ________
  3. Bromelain– Is an enzyme which is found in the core of a pineapple. We prefer this for athletic injuries and for pre and post surgical needs.  It is fabulous at reducing healing times in both circumstances.  1000 GDU is the dosage need for effectiveness.  That is two capsules / day.  Key detail for bromelain to work is that it must be taken on an empty stomach. _____X_____ Daily for________
  4. Turmeric/ curcumin  – Great natural anti-inflammatory.  Works on a couple different enzyme pathways.  Turmeric gives mustard its yellow color.  Cucurmin is the active ingredient.  Need high doses and to be eaten with fat and pepper. _____X_____ Daily for ________

“Dr. Dan told me how dangerous the daily Advil I was taking was for my stomach and ligaments and had me try Turmeric Forte from Standard Process. I am amazed how much better I feel and my stomach pain went away. I no longer need antacids. Great stuff.”

JG

“I have really bad arthritis in my knees and hands.  I am only 60 and didn’t want surgery yet.  Dr. Dan gave me Glucosamine Synergy from Standard Process, and I feel like I got my life back.  My knees feel better so I can move and my hands aren’t nearly as stiff.  I had tried other glucosamines and they didn’t work. This stuff is great.”

EB

“I have a chronically ill wife that I take care of and cannot afford to get sick.  Dr. Dan put me on Congaplex to take if I feel any symptoms coming on and Immuplex to take to build my immune system up.  It has been several years and I have yet to get sick.  I am so pleased with these products.”

VR

“I love Mintran from Dr. Dan. He gave it to me from my muscle spasms when my back went out. I use it now to help me get to sleep and to relax my muscles.  It stopped many of my tension headaches.”

BS

“I did Dr. Dan’s Omega 3 test and found that I was WAY low. He put me on Oplprima fish oil from Standard Process and in 3 months my numbers were normal and I am taking less Advil and Claratin.”

CR

“I asked Dr. Dan about a multiple vitamin because the one I took from Walmart made me feel nauseous. That just didn’t seem right. He had me try one made out of whole food from Wisconsin. It is called catalyn and it is great. I don’t feel nausea after taking it and I actually feel more energy since I have been taking it.”
